The current status of operations at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Kurchatov, despite the previous incident involving the downing of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (APU), is under control. According to RIA Novosti, the nuclear power plant continues to operate without disruption.
As per the agency’s report, operations at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Kurchatov is under control as the levels of background radiation in the vicinity of the station are within acceptable limits.
On the morning of February 17, reports emerged regarding the activation of air defense systems over Kursk and its surrounding region.
Subsequently, the governor of the Kursk region confirmed that a UAV belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces was intercepted and downed near the city of Kurchatov. “No casualties or damages have been reported. I extend my gratitude to our defenders!” expressed the regional leader towards the military personnel.
